Cookie Policy.

Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how SenseTe Ltd (“SenseTe”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the website sensete.com (the “Website”). It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, the categories of cookies we place, how long they remain on your device, and the choices available to you.

SenseTe Ltd is a company incorporated in the Republic of Cyprus under registration number HE 385247, with its registered office at 1 Methonis Street, 5th Floor, 1070 Nicosia, Cyprus. SenseTe is the controller of any personal data collected through cookies on the Website.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains in more detail how we collect, use and protect personal data. Where this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy overlap, the Privacy Policy governs the processing of personal data.

By continuing to use the Website after accepting cookies through our consent banner, you agree to the placement of the cookies you have accepted. Strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent and are placed automatically, as explained below

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer, tablet or mobile phone when you visit it. They are stored by your web browser and contain information such as a unique identifier, the name of the website that set the cookie, and the cookie’s lifetime. Each time you return to the Website, your browser sends the cookie back to our server, which allows the Website to recognise your device and remember information about your visit.

Cookies are widely used across the internet. They allow websites to function properly, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, measure how a site is used, and in some cases deliver advertising relevant to your interests. Cookies cannot run programs or deliver viruses to your device, and they cannot access other information stored on your device.

Cookies are commonly described in two ways. First, by who sets them: a first-party cookie is set by the website you are visiting, while a third-party cookie is set by a different organisation whose content or service appears on that website. Second, by how long they last: a session cookie is deleted automatically when you close your browser, while a persistent cookie remains on your device until it reaches its expiry date or you delete it manually. Persistent cookies can last anywhere from a few minutes to several years, depending on their purpose.

Throughout this policy, references to cookies also include similar technologies that store or access information on your device, such as local storage, session storage, pixel tags and web beacons. Section 6 describes these in more detail.

Why we use cookies

We use cookies for a limited number of purposes, all of which are connected to operating and improving the Website.

First, some cookies are essential to make the Website work. Without them, the pages would not load correctly, forms would not submit, and we would be unable to remember the consent choices you make in the cookie banner.

Second, cookies help us remember preferences you set, so that you do not have to make the same choices every time you return.

Third, cookies help us understand how visitors use the Website. We use this information in aggregate to see which pages are visited most often, how visitors navigate between pages, how long they spend on the Website, and whether they encounter errors. This allows us to improve the content and design of the Website over time.

Fourth, where we use marketing cookies, they allow us to measure the effectiveness of our communications and, where permitted, to show relevant content to people who have visited the Website.

We do not use cookies to collect sensitive personal data, and we do not sell information collected through cookies to third parties.

Categories of cookies we use

We divide the cookies on the Website into four categories according to their purpose. The cookie banner allows you to accept or reject each category separately, with the exception of strictly necessary cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the Website to operate. They enable core functions such as page navigation, security, load balancing and access to secure areas. They also record the choices you make in our cookie consent banner so that we can honour those choices on subsequent visits and avoid asking you again.

The Website is built on the WordPress platform, which may set a session cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies and to maintain basic site functionality. Our consent management tool sets a persistent cookie that records your consent preferences, typically for a period of up to twelve months.

Because these cookies are essential, they are placed without your consent under the exemption for strictly necessary cookies in the ePrivacy rules. You can block them through your browser settings, but if you do so, parts of the Website may not function correctly.

Preference cookies

Preference cookies allow the Website to remember choices you make that change the way the Website behaves or looks. Examples include your preferred language, your region, or settings you have applied to forms or interactive elements. These cookies make your experience more convenient but are not essential to the operation of the Website.

Preference cookies are placed only if you accept them in the cookie banner. If you reject them, the Website will still work, but your preferences may not be remembered between visits.

Analytics and performance cookies

Analytics and performance cookies collect information about how visitors use the Website. They record which pages are visited, the order in which pages are viewed, the time spent on each page, the links clicked, the type of device and browser used, and the approximate geographic location derived from the IP address. This information is aggregated and does not directly identify any individual.

We may use third-party analytics services, such as Google Analytics, to provide this functionality. These services place their own cookies on your device and process the resulting data on our behalf. Google Analytics, for example, sets cookies that assign a random identifier to your browser so that repeat visits can be distinguished from new visits. We configure these services to anonymise IP addresses where the option is available.

Analytics cookies are placed only with your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer of the Website.

Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies track your activity across websites in order to build a profile of your interests and to measure the performance of advertising and marketing campaigns. They may be set by us or by third-party advertising networks and social media platforms with which we work. These cookies can recognise your device when you visit other websites that participate in the same network.

Marketing cookies are placed only with your consent. If you reject them, you will still see content and communications from us, but they will not be tailored to your browsing behaviour, and we will be unable to measure whether a campaign led you to the Website.

Third-party cookies

Some content and functionality on the Website are provided by third parties. When these services load, your browser connects directly to the third party’s servers, which may set cookies and receive information such as your IP address, browser type and the page you are viewing.

The third-party services currently used on the Website include Google Fonts, which delivers the typefaces displayed on the Website, and the analytics and marketing services described in Section 4. The Website also contains links to our product website, creditsense.ai, which has its own cookie policy.

We do not control third-party cookies, and the third parties concerned process the data they collect in accordance with their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies. In particular, Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy, and information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Where a third-party service transfers personal data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, adequacy decisions.

Other tracking technologies

In addition to cookies, we may use the following technologies, which serve similar purposes.

Local storage and session storage are features of modern browsers that allow a website to store information on your device in a similar way to cookies, but with larger capacity. The Website may use local storage to remember interface state or to improve page loading. Session storage is cleared when you close the browser tab.

Pixel tags, also known as web beacons or clear GIFs, are tiny transparent images embedded in web pages or emails. When the image loads, it tells the server that the page or email has been opened. We may use pixel tags in our marketing emails to measure open and click rates, and on the Website to support the analytics and marketing functions described above.

Server log files record information automatically sent by your browser each time you request a page, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, the pages requested and the date and time of each request. We use log files for security, troubleshooting and capacity planning. Log data is retained for a limited period and is not combined with cookie data to identify individuals.

How long cookies remain on your device

The lifetime of a cookie depends on its purpose. Session cookies, including the WordPress session cookie, are deleted when you close your browser. The cookie that records your consent preferences is retained for up to twelve months so that we do not need to ask for your consent on every visit. Analytics cookies typically have lifetimes of between one day and two years, depending on the service and the specific cookie. Marketing cookies may have lifetimes of up to two years.

You can see the exact name, provider, purpose and expiry of each cookie currently in use by opening the cookie settings panel from the link in the footer of the Website. You can also delete any cookie at any time through your browser settings, as described in Section 9.

Your consent and how to withdraw it

When you first visit the Website, a cookie banner asks you to accept or reject cookies in each of the non-essential categories. No non-essential cookies are placed until you have made a choice. If you take no action, only strictly necessary cookies are set.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of the Website. This reopens the consent panel, where you can switch individual categories on or off. Changes take effect immediately for new cookies. Cookies that were placed before you withdrew consent will remain on your device until they expire or you delete them, but we will stop reading them and will not set new cookies in the rejected category.

If you clear your browser’s cookies, your consent record will also be deleted, and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

How to control cookies in your browser

Most web browsers allow you to view, manage, delete and block cookies through their settings. You can usually set your browser to refuse all cookies, to refuse only third-party cookies, or to alert you each time a cookie is being set. The exact steps vary by browser and version. Instructions for the most common browsers are available at the following links:

If you use more than one device or browser, you will need to adjust the settings on each one separately.

Please be aware that blocking all cookies, including strictly necessary cookies, may prevent the Website from working properly. Blocking non-essential cookies will not affect core functionality.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting that sends a signal to websites asking them not to track your activity. There is no common industry standard for how websites should respond to these signals. The Website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals; however, you can control tracking through the cookie banner and your browser settings as described above.

Cookies and personal data

Some of the information collected through cookies, such as your IP address or a unique cookie identifier, may constitute personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Where this is the case, we process that data on the following legal bases: for strictly necessary cookies, our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website; for all other cookies, your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

We use cookie data only for the purposes described in this policy. We retain it for no longer than is necessary for those purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Access to cookie data within SenseTe is limited to staff who need it to perform their roles.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Cyprus, this is the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, whose contact details are available at dataprotection.gov.cy. Further information on exercising your rights is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to this Cookie Policy

We review this Cookie Policy regularly and may update it from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in the technology or services on the Website, or changes in the law. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Where a change is material, for example if we introduce a new category of cookies, we will ask for your consent again through the cookie banner on your next visit.

We encourage you to check this page periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies.
